Cloud

This is my newest piece of plush that is up for grabs at Monkeyhouse toys in Silverlake ,CA.My inspiration was from a 50's song " The Little White Cloud That Cried" complete with jeweled teardrop and handmade hangtag. More on my latest happenings to come. For those of you wondering why my title is just Cloud on this blog, for some reason, the subject line keeps converting to Arabic or some shit.

I just received my prize for winning the munkyking halloween costume contest. My prize? TAke a looksy! WOW! I didn't have to stand in line and fight a bunch of people to get one. I just walked around like a fool for hours and got drunk and danced around a little bit. Oh how sweet being a Poptart can be!

and how was your Halloween?

Well my friends. finally getting back into the swing of things, just in time for the next holiday stooper! This year, I celebrated at not one,not two not three, but FOUR parties! A record year only beggin to be topped by next year. First off was a warm up with a hot show,MC Chris at the Knnitting Factory. So great to see such a rad person with amazing talent do his thing.Next off was a halloween party with my good friends from the LA Jedi and some people from LAFF. That's Los Angeles Fan Force to you. Next off was my neighbors party that seemed like it never ended. One of the best gatherings I've been to in a long long time. I met some of the coolest people as well. I had no idea my neighbor wrote for the television series Bones. I've never seen it but for arguments sake, let's just say " This show is awesome!" and " I never miss an episode of Bones!" Next off on the eve of Halloween was a gathering of mass proportions at the Hollywood Cemetary with a screening of The Shining. If I could turn back time and do it all over again, this would be one of the stops at the place in time. Afterwards was the Munkyking party. I hung around for hours dancing and "popping" around in my Poptart cosutme. I waitied all night for the costume contest, only to be told the winner would be announced on the internet. No word yet of who won. Bummer. So what's in store for next year? I can't tell you but I can tell you that I'll probably be requesting a few days off afterwards just to recover.

Block Party

No art show would be complete without a boombox of some sort.Made to resemble a vintage cassette player which comes complete with a one of a kind mix tape. The tape is brand new and I made it just before the Wood Block show. The opening was great. If you didn't make it,get down to Monkeyhouse toys in SIlverlake and check it out. For those who prefer the dark side of toys,Meltdown comics also had an art opening the same evening with Jim Koch, complete with burlesque dancers.

Not The Jedi Way!

So today at work I asked one of my managers if it was possible for me to get a new gretting on my register reciepts. He gladly obliged but sadly, there is not enough room to put "May The Force Be With You" on it. My second choice was "DIe Wanna Wanga" but he didn't want the word "die " on there. Retarded but I understand his argument. So finally, I decided on my new greeting,or salutation. So when you come through my line, you will be getting a piece of me,the Star Wars way!
As shown in photo....

The Redzone is for getting loaded only

This Saturday evening will be a special evening as for the first time, I will be showing in two seperate shows simultaneously. The first stop for the evening is the REd Zone at Alphacult in Long Beach,CA with Robert Pokorny and friends. The second show will be the lunchbox show at Monkeyhouse toys in Silverlake. One show will house the original artwork while the second will have it's companion piece. I decided to try and be fair and make them be pretty much the same so if you can't make it to one show, you can make it to the other. I will post photos of my pieces tomorrow as my regualr job summons my presence.ho hum.

Curating my first show

Today I just got official word that I will be curating my first show ever. I'm excited and nervous about this. It is going to be an extremely high profile show in correlation with a movie release. I have to keep some info under wraps for now. In the mean time, If anybody is interested in being apart of this show, hit me up at my gmail email which is robotkiller@gmail.com Just send me some of your artwork and if you can specify your decent,as we are trying to gt sponsorship from a major Latin American Company as well,we need at least 50 percent of the shows artists to be of Latin American origin.

Life's like a movie!

It's 2 am on a Saturday morning. I just got back from a night out at Puppet Up! and the show itself was fantastic! To make things ten millions times better,as mentioned previously,I went to Brian Henson's house for the afterparty. You are looking at a fanboys dream come true! To be in the presence of some of the most gifted people in the world and the fact they they are loving and wonderful just blows my mind. Both Lisa and Brian Henson have got to be two of the most amazingly nicest people I've ever met,not to mention that they are true Hollywood Royalty. I had no idea Brian was married to the "It Girl" of the 80's.No,not Molly Ringwald,Psshaw!.Mia Sara.Princess Lily from Legend. She is still gorgeous and they have two kids, and she throws down a mean crab salad whatchamacallit dish! As for the extent of me holding out and trying to not be the novice fanboy, I mustered up the nerve on my way out to ask Brian for his autograph not in my Dark Crystal book, but on one of his bathroom napkins which reads "LA HACIENDA EL PUNTO DE INSPIRACION".The sheet music is a pic I snuck in from the bathroom. It is the orignal sheet Music for a song used for the Muppet Christmas special. The top of the page reads Muppet Christmas.

It's time to play the Music!

I had to hold off on posting this until I got level 5 clearance from my mild mannered "day job" to attend. I've been invited to go see Puppet Up! and an afterparty at Brian Henson's house by my good friend Shane who makes maggots, sperm and likes to stuff chickens. Confused? Check out his link for all of his plush toys ( "ooooooh! I knew you were gonna say that") at http://www.purpleflavor.com/ It's unbelieveable the people who can't figure out who Brian Henson is. Maybe he should change his last name. For those who want to see a living legend who's father is a GOd in my book, check out http://www.puppetup.com/ for more info.

Alphacult 2nd Anniversary Show

This past weekend, I submitted my first etching for the Alphacult show titled " Up ,Up, And Away!" The theme was...Superheroes. Whom did I chose? You might be thinking Batman,or Luke Skywalker, but this time I decided to go classic oldschool and opted for noneotherthan....SUPERCHICKEN! You can read about it more via this link:
http://alphacult.com/alphacult/News/AC31979E-E95D-49EF-AEA7-A7272C3E9CFE.html
I'll post my piece from it on here in a bit. Right now I'm just getting the jist of posting a blog, and the thought that I could have been doing this years ago and gotten tons of my shit online trouble-free has me flattened right now.
